Ketevan Sharumashvili was born in 1986 in Tbilisi, Georgia, and studied at Z. Paliashvili Music Gymnasium for Highly Gifted Children under Dodo Tsintsadze from 1999-2004. In 2004 she entered Tbilisi State Conservatory under Prof. Nino Mamradze and later Bejan Namgladze from 2004 till 2010.
In her first piano competition – at the young age of 14 – she received 1st Prize at the N Rubinstein Competition in Paris, France. At 15, she came 3rd in the Konzerteumcompetition in Greece, and in 2010, she won Gold Diploma, the Special Prize of the Jury and the Fundacion Eutherpe special prize in the Pianale competition in Germany.
In 2008 she was awarded a scholarship to study for an MA in Georgia from the President of that country, Mr M. Saakashvili. Later she received a scholarship from pianist Eteri Anjaparidze, for being the best participant in her Master classes. Once she finished her studies in Georgia, Ketevan received a full scholarship to pursue doctoral studies in Hamburg, Germany from KAAD as a concert pianist and where she also taught compulsory piano studies to music students.
She was laureate in A. Napolitano international competition and M. Monopoli prize competition in Italy and Lagny-sur-Marne competition in France in 2011. In addition, she was awarded the Audience Prize at the final concert played with the orchestra after having been selected by Konstantin Scherbakov on the Weimar Masterclasses. At the Viotti competition in Vercelli, Italy, in 2010 Ketevan won the Diploma and Soroptimist Prize.
From 2011 to 2013, she was a student at the University of Music and Drama in Hamburg, with Professor Ralf Nattkemper and later with Professor Marian Migdal. She also studied in Zurich under Professor Konstantin Scherbakov. And from 2014 to present, she has been studying at the Amsterdam Conservatoire, under the guidance of Prof. Naum Grubert.
She has taken Master Classes with many great pianists such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Dmitry Alexeev, Boris Berman, Klaus Hellwig, Susan Starr, Chong Mo Kang, Peter Donohoe, Akiko Ebi, Joaquin Soriano.
Ketevan has vast international experience, and has performed and is still performing solo recitals in Georgia, Germany, Spain, Netherlands and Italy.
