Cesare Zanfini

Violinist from Milan, he comes from a family of musicians.
In 2011 he graduated from the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milano under the guidance of M° Fulvio Luciani, obtaining the highest evaluation as well as, in 2014, in Chamber Music under the guidance of M° Roberto Tarenzi. He studied also at Fiesole Music School Trio repertory with M° Bruno Canino.

In 2009 he won the Paolo Borciani Scholarship from the Milano Conservatory in string quartet and, in piano trio, the “Rovere d’Oro – Young Artists” competition and in 2012 the Antonio Beltrami Scholarship from the Milano Conservatory.

In 2011 he performed the Schumann Quintet with Natalia Guttman and Elissò Virsaladze for the Pontino Festival in Sermoneta.
He has performed with several Musical Associations among which the “Società dei Concerti” in Milan, the “Parco della Musica” in Rome, the “Dal Verme” Theater in Milan, MiTo Fringe, Milano Musica, and in musical events at the “Pinacoteca di Brera”, the “Piccolo Teatro” in Milan and Palazzo Pitti a Firenze. He performed as a soloist in several chamber ensembles in Italy, France, Sweden, Austria and Spain.

He participated in Masterclasses with Francesco Manara, Maureen Jones, Dario De Rosa, Malcolm Bilson, Olivier Charlier, Natalia Gutman, Dora Schwarzberg and Eva Bindere.
He did advanced studies with M° Michael Frischenschlager in Vienna and Salzburg.

Actually he is studying in Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with a Scholarship under the guidance of M° Lihay Bendayan.

Since 2012 he has been part of the Orchestra of the Academy of Teatro alla Scala, with which he performed in several concerts in the best theaters in Italy, as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and in other countries also as concertmaister. Since 2013 he has been part of the Ensemble of the Academy of Teatro alla Scala specialized in the XX century repertoire.
Between January and march 2014 he participated in a tour with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra as principal of second violins. In October 2014 he performed with Cameristi della Scala at the Carnegie Hall in New York, Boston and Washington.

He plays in Piano Duo with Paolo Gorini since 2013. They won a prize in Milano for a piece written after 1960: “11 Danze per la Bella Verenza” by Niccolò Castiglioni. In august they will record a CD/DVD for LimenMusic.

 

Paolo Gorini

He started to approach piano with his father.
He graduated cum laude in piano at the Conservatory Luca Marenzio in Brescia and got a master degree in chamber music at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Milano. He is currently attending a master course in piano focused in new music at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
His main teachers have been Mr. Mario Boselli, Paolo Bordoni, Aldo Ciccolini, Andrea Rebaudengo, Emanuela Piemonti, Frank Peters and Ralph Van Raat.

He won the second price at the IX edition of the piano competition “Città di San Giovanni Teatino” and the special price “Music, the food of love” (best performance of Food by Carlo Galante) in the second edition of the piano competition “Premio Antonio Bertolini” in Milano.

During his studies at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory with Mrs. Emanuela Piemonti he started a collaboration with the violinist Cesare Zanfini.
The duo won “Premio Speciale per la migliore esecuzione di un’opera di epoca contemporanea scritta dopo il 1960 da un compositore legato al Conservatorio di Milano” (Niccolò Castiglioni- Undici danze per la bella Verena).
In August 2016 the duo is recording a CD/DVD for Limen Music.

His passion for contemporary music gave birth of a strong collaboration with the Ensemble Sentieri Selavaggi in different projects such as “Ballet Mecanique” by G. Antheil, “Feeding music” during EXPO 2015 and “Ritratto di Ludovico Einaudi” at the Teatro Elfo Puccini di Milano.
As soloist he played Maderna’s Concerto per 2 pianoforti e strumenti with LMC Ensemble during Milano Musica 2015 Festival.
In December 2015 he played Huang Ruo’s Chamber concerto “Yueh Fei” with the project “Score Collective” at Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, in July 2016 he played Deux commentaires au Quatuor pour la fin du temps by Gerardo Gozzi at Royal Accademy of Music in London. He worked with the pianist Hauschka during the Milano Piano City 2015 opening concert with the project Music for seven key instruments and percussions

He is currently studying composition with Mr. Mauro Montalbetti.
It’s like… for voice and piano has been selected and performed at the Festival Risonanze 2014 in Trieste. In 2016 Geometrie di vento for Orchestra was commissioned and performed in Milan by Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali.
