Biografie

Bogdan Preda (1998) grew up in a family with musical connections in the suburbs of Bucharest. His musical training began at the National College of Arts ‘George Enescu’ at the age of 7 both on recorder and piano. He was awarded with several prizes throughout the country in this period at national competitions.

At the age of 11 years, he discovered the flute and began his training with professor Virgil Opritoiu, the most renowned flute teacher in Romania at the National College of Arts ”Dinu Lipatti” Bucharest.

In his first years of playing the flute he was already conquering most of the national contests, first prize in the National Olympiads of Music (2012), trophy of the Margareta Sterian International Contest.

Later, he continued to win other trophies of national contest like Aulodia, George Georgescu and the Olympiad of Music (2013-2017).

He also played in the most important halls of the country, one of them being the Romanian Athenaeum, both solo and with orchestra.

Since autumn 2017 he is a student at the Amsterdam Conservatory in his 3rd year Bachelor, under the guidance of professor Marieke Schneemann, regularly performing in school concerts, chamber music and orchestral projects.
