Stichting Oosterkerk

Dinsdagavondconcert door saxofonist Carlos Giménez en pianist Francisco Martí met muziek van o.a. Cesar Franck & Santiago Baez.

Carlos Giménez Martínez and Francisco Martí are two young musicians coming from Spain who by means of this collaboration aim to promote the amazing world of the music for piano and saxophone.

This combination is very interesting and fruitful due to the features of both instruments. Both of them can achieve a high degree of virtuosity and a dazzling variety of resources that has been developed over the years.

The born date of the saxophone, which is very recent when compared to other classical instruments, makes it a very special instrument with a particular language mostly created through the XXth century. The piano continued to play the role of universal instrument (in Béla Bartók’s words) during the whole XXth century, which allowed to create this link between both instruments and develop a large repertoire.

With this collaboration, Carlos Giménez and Francisco Martí expect to show this range of possibilities and present the listener some sample of this surprising world.

Concerten in de Oosterkerk

Minstens drie keer per maand is er een gratis concert in de Oosterkerk. Op één zondagmiddag van de maand een koffieconcert en op de eerste dinsdagavond en één vrijdagmiddag van de maand treden (oud-)studenten van het Conservatorium van Amsterdam op. Deze concerten worden naast subsidie van de Werkgroep Kunst & Cultuur Oostelijke Binnenstad mogelijk gemaakt door uw vrijwillige bijdrage.
