Biografie

Clarinettist of the Dutch National Youth Orchestra for the last two years Lily is active both as a soloist and a chamber musician. She has performed in major European concert halls such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Muziekgebouwaan ’t IJ, De Doelen and the Bela Bartok Concert Hall in Budapest. A frequent collaborator of the jongNBE, de Klankkast, NJO Chamber orchestra, Amsterdam Score Collective Ensemble and the Collegium Musicum Palace Orchestra in Germany; she is at ease with the full range of the clarinet repertoire and is interested in both historical and contemporary performance practice.
Active in the European music scene, Lily has taken part in the Uitmarkt festival,Amsterdam Composers’ festival, SchlossWeissenstein in Pommersfelden music festival, and the Young Musicians Summer Festival in Hungary, working with conductors including Etienne Siebens, VásáryTamás and Xian Zhang.
She has taken lessons with Francois Benda, Thomas Lindhorst, Ralph Manno, Olivier Patey, Johannes Peitz and ZsoltSzatmari. Since 2013, Lily has been a student of Arno Piters at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Before moving to the Netherlands she was a student of Gabor Devich in Budapest in the SzentIstvánKirály Music School, where she graduated achieving the highest mark in 2012. In 2007 she was awarded 2nd prize in the Regional Clarinet Competition of Pest and was a finalist in the National Clarinet Competition in 2010. Born in Aylesbury, England, but having lived in Hungary and New Zealand, Lily is fluent in both English and Hungarian.
More recently Lily can be found performing with flutist Carlos Añez and the Lima quartet since 2015.
