IlusTrio was founded 2 years ago by the spanish saxophonist Maria Ramos and pianist Antonio Carrasco Alvarez, together with the dutch violinist Sabine Poiesz. Maria remains as the only original member of the ensemble, that has now included the Irish pianist Eadaoin Copeland and Gonzalo Argüello from Argentina on violin, both in the 2nd year of their Master degree at Conservatorium van Amstedam. They have been performing as a duet for a year already. Maria, Eadaoin and Gonzalo have a performed as part of different and chamber music groups and orchestras in the Netherlands and abroad.
This ensemble is a very special one since it allows to bring to life its original repertoire and also transcriptions of the vast classical trio (violin, cello and piano). The combination of the three instruments creates a very special sound world, powerful and yet flexible to very different kinds of music, from the wide palette of impressionism to the density of post-romanticism.
